DOROTHY DJOKOTO

Mrs. Dorothy Djokoto has 25 years post-qualification experience as a corporate lawyer with extensive practice with blue chip companies and organisations as in-house Legal Counsel and Board Secretary. Her experience spans cross-border transactions in Aviation, Construction Law, Employment Law, Engineering Law, Project Finance, Natural Resource Law and Public Infrastructure.

During her career, she has demonstrated immense legal and commercial insight, resulting in a track record of delivering high value projects in a frontier regulatory environment requiring integrity, good judgment and innovation.

Dorothy has extensive experience in interfacing with Government institutions at all levels, and has steered legislative arrangements through Ghana’s Parliament and has insight in the processes involved in effecting legislative and policy reform.

Dorothy holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ghana, a postgraduate degree in International Relations from the Legon Centre for International Affairs (LECIA)  and an EMBA from CEIBS.

Dorothy worked as Legal Counsel for Ashanti Goldfields Company Limited, Newmont Ghana Gold Limited and the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA). She also has extensive experience in the Capital Markets industry, having served as a Commissioner for the Securities & Exchange Commission, Ghana for several years.
